- Will SPSS for Macintosh run on Intel-based Macintosh computers?

SPSS 16.0 for Macintosh is compatible with Power PC and Intel-based Mac hardware. SPSS Statistics 17 is compatible with Intel-based Macs. Versions prior to SPSS 16.0 for Macintosh do not support the use of any existing version of SPSS for Mac OS X on the new Intel-based Mac hardware. Additionally, SPSS does not support the use of SPSS for Windows under any emulation or dual-booting software such as Boot Camp, Parallels, and Virtual PC.
- Sentinel RMS License Manager installation says "Please insert disk:" What must I do?

Please copy the Sentinel directory from the SPSS installation CD to the hard drive and install from the hard drive.
- Is SPSS 16.0.0 for Macintosh supported on Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard)?

SPSS 16.0.0 was released prior to Leopard's release. However, SPSS 16.0.1 is tested and supported on Mac OS 10.5. SPSS Statistics 17.0.x is also supported on Mac OS 10.5.x.
- How do I fix the following error? Error 1320.The specified path is too long.

This problem has most commonly been reported on Sony Vaio machines running Microsoft Vista, however there have been reports from other machine types as well. The MSI 1320 error usually occurs when the installation folder (INSTALLDIR) the user is installing to is a mapped network drive, or has been substituted using the DOS 'SUBST' command. So as an initial diagnostic, please check to be sure this is not the case in your situation.
You can use the following solution until we are able to rectify this error:Remove the "Application Data" shortcut (junction) from the "C:\ProgramData" directory:
- Click on your Start button, select Computer
- Select the "Organize" drop-down located in the upper left-hand corner and select "Folder and Search Options"
- Select the "View" tab, select the following options, and click OK:
Select "Show hidden files and folders"
Deselect "Hide protected operating system files"
Click OK
- Navigate to "C:\ProgramData"
- Locate the "Application Data" shortcut
- Click and drag the "Application Data" shortcut to another location. For example, your Desktop
- Install SPSS
- When the installation is complete, you may move the "Application Data" shortcut to its original location
- Click on your Start button, select Computer
- Choose the "Organize' drop down located in the upper left-hand corner and select "folfer and search" options
- Choose the "view" tab, select the following options, and click OK:
De-select/Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders"
Select/Check "Hide protected operating system files"
Click OK.
Close the Window
If you have issues restoring the settings that were in place prior to the resolution process, please perform the following steps:
- Click on your Start button, select Computer
- Choose the "Organize" drop-down located in the upper left-hand corner and select "Folder and Search Options"
- Choose the "View" tab, select the following options, and click OK:
Select the 'Do not show hidden files and folders' option.
Select the 'Hide protected operating system files' option.
Select the Apply button.
Select the OK button.
Close Computer window.
Your original settings will now be restored.
